What Is Thermocoagulation?
Thermocoagulation is a safe non-invasive treatment to improve the appearance of the skin or for removal of unwanted skin anomolies. These include Skin Tags, Milia, Broken Capillaries, Cholesterol Deposits, Xanthelasma, Cherry Angioma's and more Thermocoagulation produces a targeted heat energy to coagulate blood capillaries or dehydrate unwanted skin anomolies. Although results can be seen instantly, it can take 1-2 treatments for stubborn or larger anomolies. Consultation are complimentary to ensure this is a correct procedure for you.
Does It Hurt?
Discomfort is mild and tolerable. A numbing agent may be used if needed except for if treating capillaries/vascular irregularities.
How Long Will It Take To See Results
Results are typically visible within a few days to a week after the procedure. You may notice the treated area darkening or scabbing as part of the natural healing process. Once the scabs fall off, the area should appear smoother, clearer, and more even.
How Many Treatments Will I Need
The number of treatments required depends on the size, number, and type of skin concerns being treated. For most clients, 1-3 sessions are usually sufficient to address a specific issue. However, larger areas or multiple skin concerns may require additional sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart
Is Their Down Time?
Healing can vary depending on the size of anomolie treated and the location as well as your body's own individual healing process. Healing can take from 7 days to several weeks before healed completely. Immediately following the treatment their may be mild redness, extreme redness, local swelling, tenderness, bruising, these generally subside within one week to 21 days. It is important to follow the home care instructions to aid in the healing process.
Things To Keep In Mind Before Your Appointment
Hydrate Your Skin & Body - This minimizes discomfort and enables better results. Avoid Sun Exposue 48hrs prior to treatment. Capillaries/Spider Veins, Needs your doctors approval to stop blood thinners 3 days before and after treatment.
Things To Keep In Mind After Your Appointment
Keep the area clean and moisturized with polysporin, avoid touching the treated area. A cool compress may be applied to soothe the area. Avoid swimming and hot tubs or saunas for 48 hrs after treatment. Avoid the sun and tanning salons until healed , use an spf to protect the area. Avoid Strenuous physical activity and exercise for up to 48hrs following capillary treatment. The increase in blood flow may rupture the clot in the capillary and cause treatment failure. If flaking occurs polysporin or similar may be applied as needed through  out the day to keep the area hydrated. let the flaking come off naturally , do not pick, scratch or rub. Makeup can be resumed when skin looks and feels back to normal. If you have any concerns please contact us.
Capillary Post Care
-Area may feel sensitive, irritated, warm, tingly, red, tender and swollen. Bruising may occur or darkening of the skin, these are generally temporary and subside with 1 to 4 weeks. -Only allow water on the area for the first 24hrs. Pat dry and apply Polysporin -Wash hands thoroughly before touching the treated area. -Avoid touching the area with fingers until healed. If any Flakes or scabs form do not pick, rub or scratch, let them fall off naturally. -Keep the area clean and moisturized. Use a gentle cleanser with clean finger tips (no cloths or brush) rinse and pat dry then apply moisturizer, and polysporin 2x a day. We recommend Biophora’s Post Procedure Kit That Includes a calming Cleaner, soothing and hydrating serum, moisturizer and spf. -Avoid exfoliants and active ingredients for 1 week. -Avoid makeup on the treated area for at least 24hrs. -Avoid skin treatments for 4weeks. -Avoid the sun for one week. After the area has healed use an spf daily. -No swimming, sauna, jacuzzi, for 48hrs post procedure. -Avoid excessive sweating/exercise for 48hrs. -For Capillaries the increase in blood flow may rupture the clot in the capillary and cause treatment failure. -If you have any questions or concerns during the healing process please call or message us.
